Spring in the Netherlands - tulip madness

кекенхоф голландия тюльпаны

Everyone has ever seen photos of blooming tulip fields from Holland. A riot of colored stripes all the way to the horizon. But it always seemed to me that they had planted one or two fields for photos and that was it... There are no more blooming fields. However, ordinary tourists have too many photos with blooming fields, which means there are these fields somewhere...

And in autumn, we checked when tulips bloom and when the famous Keukenhof flower park is open - in spring, from mid-March to mid-May. And of course the best time is the middle of April. and then there were cheap tickets just for three days (a long weekend due to Easter) and we decided to go.

Szecheni Baths is one of the most famous sights of Budapest

купальни сечени достопримечательности будапешта

The Szecheni Bathhouse (weng. Széchenyi fürdő) is the largest sauna complex in Budapest and Europe. Its construction was started in 1909 according to the plans of Diese Ziegler.

We tried these baths, even twice, during our week-long trip to Budapest, at the end of September 2014. By the way, we had already been to Budapest once before - during our motorcycle trip across Europe in May 2013, but that time we were in the city for only one evening and didn't really have time to see anything. And we didn't know about the baths at all then.

This time we went specifically to Budapest, and before the trip we found out what we could see and visit. And the baths are one of the main attractions of the city.

Tyniec Abbey, sightseeings of Krakow

тынецкое аббатство, достпримечательности кракова

What to do in Krakow if you have already visited the historical center, explored the length and breadth of the royal Wawel Castle, and you do not have a heart for visiting museums... Of course, he will go to explore the surroundings. One of the options is the salt mines in Wieliczka. Well, we decided to go for a bike ride, so what if it's winter, but the weather is good, there is a snowball and it's not too cold, and besides, Krakow is entangled with bike paths, as well as near and far bike routes. We decided to go to Tyniec Abbey, or rather the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec. From the center of Krakow it is about 15km in one direction. Not a lot, not a little, but just right.

We have been living in Poland for 4 months, but we have only reached the capital now. So we have 1.5 days of free time and the whole of Warsaw is in front of us.

In fact, it turned out that we only have one day to explore the city center, since the second day of our stay in Warsaw was the anniversary of the disaster near Smolensk... and the whole center was busy with official events.

See Paris and die or no?

To the Palais de Chaillot, we came from the Arc de Triomphe. The palace is home to several museums and there is a park around. But I think the majority of tourists are attracted here a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower, which is just opposite the palace, across the Seine.

Probably, the park near the palace of Chaillot, I liked the most. There are a lot of hills and trees, not just flat surface. Many cozy places. Finding one of these places, we settled down to dinner, behind the bushes there are Ukrainian voices - fans arrived at the Euro, apart flashed Russian flag. Now it is very easy to distinguish who and from what country - almost all hold the flags of their countries.

The Latin quarter, Notre-Dame de Paris from what place to start exploring Paris?

Paris is large and beautiful city, which has many interesting sights. We were in Paris on the first day of Euro 2016, so our entire trip was accompanied by a crowd of football fans.

Of course, such an event can't be done without a lot of football fans arrived, and with housing in Paris is not all good (there is a lot of it, but expensive).

Louvre, Place de la Concorde and Montmartre - one of the main attractions of Paris

As we wrote in the article "The Latin quarter, Notre-Dame de Paris from what place to start exploring Paris?" We walked from the Latin Quarter to Notre Dame and the Pompidou Centre, and now headed to the Louvre.

On the way, we came across Paroisse Saint-Eustache. Paris church of Saint-Eustache, next to the former Central Market, now the center of Les Halles. One of the last Gothic churches of Paris; It combines Gothic architecture with Renaissance forms and volumes of classical facade. In the church organ concerts are held regularly. And it is located next to a small flea market.
